Our Technology
At Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn, we strive to stay on top of the latest technology. By using advanced techniques, we are able to offer our patients the highest level of care through more efficient, safe, comfortable, and effective treatment. Using some of the most innovative equipment available, we can improve our patients’ oral health while enhancing their dental experience. Below is an overview of the advanced equipment that helps us to make your visit to the dentist better than ever.
Intraoral Camera
As a way to better communicate with our patients, we use an intraoral camera. This tiny camera can be used inside your mouth to produce high quality images on a computer screen, allowing you to better understand what we see. These images can show your gums and teeth in great detail, and can show you the inside of your mouth from angles you would not be able to see otherwise. This helps us to more effectively explain any issues, as well as help you to find ways to improve your at-home dental routine.
Digital X-rays/3D Imaging
Our dental professionals use digital x-rays, which use 90% less radiation than regular x-rays. We use Schick Technologies, the #1 company for digital x-rays, in our office. With this advancement to our dental technology, there is no need to wait for film to develop. Our dentists are able to observe a high definition image immediately after the x-ray is taken, which can easily be shared with you on a computer monitor. Another innovative technology we use to help improve patient care is 3D Imaging technology, using the Vatech Pan Ceph. This technology provides us with a more detailed look at your teeth and gums. 3D imaging, combined with digital x-rays, can both improve the safety and accuracy of diagnostic imaging. Digital x-rays also speed up the communication between our office and your insurance provider, since they can be sent digitally.
Planmeca FIT™ CAD/CAM System
Driven by E4D Technologies, the Planmeca FIT™ CAD/CAM system is a state-of-the-art digital technology that enables our dentists to design, create, and place various dental restorations in a single office visit. Using the system’s PlanScan Scanner® – which is the sole intraoral scanner in the world equipped with blue laser technology – a digital image of your teeth is first taken with an unprecedented degree of speed and precision. This image is then sent to a laptop on which your restoration is custom-designed using intuitive PlanCAD® software. Once the design is complete, the Planmeca PlanMill 40® is used to fabricate your dental crown, bridge, veneer, or other restoration in-office with micron-precise accuracy. The durable, aesthetically pleasing dental restoration is then carefully secured to your affected tooth (teeth) for a comfortable fit and natural-looking result, allowing you to leave our office that same day with renewed confidence in your smile.
Smile Imaging
With Smile imaging, we can create a 3D computer image of your smile. Once created, we are able to manipulate the image as a way to help you envision your potential results after certain procedures, such as porcelain veneers or dental implants. Smile Imaging provides your dentist with a visual tool to better communicate with you. It also allows you to give us feedback, helping to better customize and personalize your treatment.
WaterLase
Many people have anxiety about visiting the dentist because of the tools used in traditional dentistry. At Dental Professionals of Fair Lawn, one of the advanced technologies we use is the WaterLase. The WaterLase combines an advanced laser with a spray of water to allow us to give you a virtually painless treatment – most patients need little to no anesthetic prior to the procedure. The WaterLase is also more efficient and precise than a traditional drill, and can be used for multiple procedures, including cavity preparation, decay removal, and more.
Diode
Using the Diode laser, we are able to provide our patients with a more comfortable deep cleaning experience. In addition to effectively removing harmful bacteria and diseased tissue, the laser can be used for a number of other procedures, including gum reshaping. The Diode laser is designed to be accurate, gentle, fast, and safe. Treatments using the laser are typically less invasive than traditional methods, and often lead to less bleeding and swelling, as well as faster recovery times.
Digital Impressions
Messy, gooey impressions are now a thing of the past – with digital impressions, we are able to use a computer imaging system to map out a precise model of your teeth. This method is completely painless and can quickly provide your dentist with the information that they need, meaning your appointment will be much more efficient and convenient.
